The airport will host Europe’s largest decision conference in the aviation sector
A success for Hanover Airport and a great opportunity for the entire city – the airport will host Routes Europe 2019, staging the largest European network conference of the aviation sector in Germany for the first time.
For three days, Hanover will serve as the meeting point for decision-makers in the sector – airlines, airport operators and tourism experts. As the most important continental event of its kind, Routes Europe takes place annually and is held in a different European country each time. The format includes a trade fair, business meetings and a conference program.
Hanover Airport asserted itself in a ten-month-long application process for the host role, winning out over eight competitors. The State of Lower Saxony and the City of Hanover provided active support during the application phase.
Olaf Lies, Lower Saxony’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport, is thrilled: “We are really glad to enhance the popularity of Lower Saxony and Hanover through this event – as a business location and as an attractive tourist destination.”
Hanover‘s Mayor, Stefan Schostok, is also delighted: “The City of Hanover congratulates the airport on being chosen for the Routes Europe 2019. As an international exhibition city, Hanover offers excellent framework conditions to act as the first German host of this major aviation trade fair.”
Dr. Raoul Hille, Managing Director of Hanover Airport, sees this event as offering the best prerequisites for perpetuating successful growth: “For us, this is a huge advantage in regard to distribution marketing. Top global decision-makers can convince themselves of our tremendous site potential and excellent infrastructure right here in Hanover. This can also have a positive effect on our flight offerings.”
